1 x EUROMIX® 3300 SPACE & 5 x LINEMIX 4500 for one of the largest infrastructure projects of recent times

Femern A/S is a subsidiary of the Danish, state-owned Sund & Bælt holding A/S. Femern A/S is tasked with planning, building and operating the fixed link between Denmark and Germany across the Fehmarnbelt. For more information see www.femern.com
Femern A/S awarded the Tunnel Portals and Ramps, Tunnel South and Tunnel North Contracts to Femern Link Contractors (FLC) in 2016.

SBM Mineral Processing GmbH. is pleased to announce that following commencement of the project, Femern Link Contractors (FLC) has subsequently awarded the exclusive supply of concrete mixing plants to SBM Mineral Processing GmbH., who are proud to be a part of the world’s longest immersed tunnel and the longest tunnel for both road and rail traffic.

The contract includes the delivery of a total of 6 concrete mixing plants for the production of the 3,000,000 m³ of concrete required for the construction of the longest immersed tunnel in the world. In the first step, SBM Mineral Processing delivers a EUROMIX® 3300 SPACE which will produce the concrete for the construction of the infrastructure. The EUROMIX® is considered to be trend-setting in super-mobile concrete production due to its performance. In2021, 2 of a total of 5 LINEMIX® 4500 CM will start work in "Factory B" and start producing concrete for the tunnel elements. Equipped with BHS DKX 4.5 twin-shaft mixers, these systems produce an output of 4.5 m³ concrete per batch. This is a new milestone in terms of production output even for container-mobile SBM concrete mixing systems. "Factory A" will go into operation in mid-2022 and another 3 SBM LINEMIX® will be involved. And because of our partnership with CPT A/S, continuous support and assurance of production performance is guaranteed.

The Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link Project is the final stage in the realisation of a straight traffic corridor between Lolland in Denmark and Fehmarn in Germany, across the Fehmarnbelt. The link will accommodate four lanes of road traffic, two emergency lanes and two railway tracks.

“Concrete has become a high-tech product. As a machine and plant manufacturer with decades of experience we can offer innovative solutions and sophisticated concepts to our customers. This ensures that FLC can produce concrete economically, quickly, as sustainable as possible, and in accordance with the necessary quality criteria. A special thing on the side is that the entire order was negotiated via video calls & conferences and we have never met our customer in person before and since the contract was signed. Our challenge is to continuously expand our technological leadership and to further strengthen our expertise in process engineering technology,” explains DI Erwin Schneller, Managing Director of SBM Mineral Processing GmbH, and emphasizes the great importance of future-oriented thinking and actions in the company.
