Off to Siberia – SBM plants in their element

25. June 2014

SBM Mineral Processing can list a range of successful top flight projects in Russia, which once more prove the special productivity of the plants under demanding conditions. With our strong partner Brise Stroitelnie Maschini in Moscow, since last year three SBM "specialists" have delivered an impressive performance in the extreme climate of Siberia, among others.

Teamwork saves crushing stages - STE 100.65 T and REMAX 1312 ECO do the work of four.

SBM plants are high-tech products, which really feel at home in particularly hard climatic conditions. The Austrian manufacturer scores highly here with know-how and the highest quality materials and processing, because "one should not save in the wrong areas, so the customer is guaranteed a smooth and economically viable operation", says SBM Managing Director, Johannes Weiermair. Especially in remote and difficult to access areas, every breakdown is a logistical challenge and therefore costly and time-consuming. Reliability is the top priority here.

Difficult material
No problem for the mobile track-mounted REMAX 1312 ECO impact crusher, which for the Vinjevski Karier project in the Tula region (Central Russia) copes with 350 tonnes of limestone per hour in a feed size of 0/350 mm and a final product of 0/40 mm. Even after two very hard winters and specific, especially cohesive feed material in the area of operation, there are no restrictions in relation to operational safety and process flow.

On-site refining
With five semi-mobile crushing and screening plants already in use, tried and tested SBM technology was exported to Russia for the first time. The successful SMR 10/5/4 impact crushing plant has downstream screens of type KQ 15/40-2, which process the customer's cost-effectively purchased aggregate into high-quality asphalt directly in the asphalt mixing plant. The SMR 10/5/4, with a power supply of 110 kW, shines with, among other things, its particular flexibility, robustness and low maintenance costs. The plant combination of SMR impact crusher and two KQ vibrating screens can deal with hard rock in a feed size of 20/60 (120) mm with final products of, for example, 0/5 mm, 5/20 mm, 20/40 mm and 40/X mm.

Strong team
An STE 100.65 T combined with the REMAX 1312 ECO have proven themselves an unbeatable team since May 2013 in the Tschita region (Siberia). The mobile track-mounted primary and secondary crushing unit, consisting of a jaw crusher and an impact crusher, is loaded here with especially hard and tough gabbro basalt with a feed size of 0/600 mm. With a throughput of approx. 200 t/h, a final grain size of 0/45 mm is achieved. Traditionally in Russia such a task would be realised with two further crushers. With this optimum plant combination, which combines an MFL jaw crusher with an SBM impact crusher, the customer has secured a considerable competitive advantage in regard to effectiveness and profitability.
