A close result at the Messe-Steinbruch

At steinexpo, SBM Mineral Processing showcased a wide range of stationary and mobile processing solutions, the EUROMIX© 1600 NOVA mobile mixing plant, and the range of services offered by its new partner, AetasVerde. The focus was on sustainable building material cycles and the company’s own ambition to be a full-service provider in the stone and aggregates sector.

“Even though not everything went smoothly at the trade fair at first, we are generally satisfied with the outcome,” said SBM Managing Director Erwin Schneller. An active quarry as a trade fair venue is particularly attractive, but places high demands on the organisation: “This is an area where we can and should make improvements,” he said, referring to initial problems with visitor access and guidance.

Mobile billing is a success

A signal visible from afar, demonstrating that the systems were up and running, was the mixing unit of the SBM EUROMIX 1600 NOVA mobile concrete batching plant – which was also the largest exhibit in the concrete sector of the trade fair, which remains somewhat under-represented. “The decision to showcase our mobile concrete technology in Nieder-Ofleiden has paid off,” sums up Ernst Stöttinger, SBM’s Sales Manager for Concrete Technology. “The mobility and flexibility of our EUROMIX were more than evident without the need for foundations, right on the edge of the quarry. This made the machine demonstrations all the more convincing, with visitors particularly impressed by the practical (working) space, the fully integrated technical equipment and the high-quality workmanship of our smallest model range.”

Those directly interested included concrete suppliers, construction companies and quarry and gravel plant operators. The latter benefit in particular from the advantages of a temporary yet high-quality processing of produced or stored raw materials or recycled materials. “Our modular, expandable EUROMIX range offers all of this: standard grades, speciality concretes, recycled mixes and liquid soil – even up to 2,000 m³ per day, anytime, anywhere,” emphasises Ernst Stöttinger.

Core competence: processing

High flexibility, efficiency and cost-effectiveness are the hallmarks of the REMAX 300 Max mobile impact crusher and the RHS 13/16/4 stationary horizontal impact crusher, which SBM presented in Nieder-Ofleiden for the processing sector.

Weighing around 38 tonnes, the REMAX 300 Max features a ‘hybrid electrified’ drive system optimised for low fuel consumption and reduced wear, a large 1,100-type crusher for feed sizes up to 700 mm, and an extra-long single-decksecondary screen (5.25 m² screening area). The ‘Max’ stands for outstanding results in the production of fine end products or the processing of materials that are difficult to screen, even at full crusher capacity of up to 300 t/h.

The RHS 13/16/4 horizontal impact crusher (weighing around 20.5 tonnes, with a capacity of 250–400 t/h for particle sizes up to 0/32 mm) represents the mid-range model in the RHS series. Used as primary or secondary crushers with an optional grinding circuit for soft to hard natural stone, the RHS crushers produce intermediate or final products with excellent grain shape, whilst offering high availability and long-term cost-effectiveness.

"Stationary makes you mobile!"

The RHS 13/16/4 was representative of SBM’s stationary processing technology, with its almost comprehensive range of individual machines and system solutions for mineral processing. The entire range of stationary products will in future be consolidated under a new, independent sales organisation, which will also cover plant engineering. SBM is thus responding to the growing demand for retrofits, partial refurbishments and new builds in natural stone production, mineral recycling and environmental technology – and aims to continue securing decisive market advantages as a medium-sized supplier with its own planning, design and manufacturing capabilities.

Pooling expertise

AetasVerde GmbH (based in Linnich) introduced itself as a new partner at the SBM stand. The company, led by Managing Director Berging and Mirco Curic, carries out market-based demand analyses and company-specific feasibility studies. In-depth research into potential funding opportunities facilitates investment planning. Experienced experts provide the technical plant design, offer support during the approval process and assist throughout all phases of implementation. “With AetasVerde, we are offering our customers a service provider that draws on comprehensive expertise to professionally manage projects of any scale. As plant manufacturers in particular, this opens up new opportunities for us to utilise our technologies in innovative ways,” says SBM Sales Manager Martin Wizinger, summarising the collaboration.
