Efficient technologies to obtain clean results

The shortage of high-quality material resources often requires the extraction of sand and gravel layers with impurities. SBM offers solutions for the processing of:

  • Inorganic impurities such as loam, clay, caking and fine grain attached to the larger particles, which are reamed and washed out.
  • Organic impurities such as coal, peat and wood, which are sorted out by processes that make use of the density difference between the materials.

Double-shaft log washers

SBM double-shaft log washers are mainly used to loosen loam but also brittle grain. With the overflow, wood, coal and peat can be removed as well.

Sand Dewatering and Refining

Sand traps

To dewater and recover fine sand from solid material-- water suspensions from the underflow of a washing screen or loosening station: discharge of the elutriable particles via water drain; sands (finest sand particles) are discharged by buckets. Vacuum chambers increase the dewatering capacity. With sand traps, the settled solids are transported to the buckets by screws.

Double sand trap

The SBM double sand trap is provided with two independent speed-regulated bucket wheels. Simultaneous use as both sand and fine sand trap allows to produce 0/4 as well as 0/1 in one single operation.
